Liftoff feature guide

Turn a goal into a plan you can actually work on

A goal names a change you want. A useful plan explains what to do next, how it fits into your week, and when to reconsider it.

Liftoff combines goal setting with AI-assisted planning, editable phases and tasks, habits, and daily check-ins. Use the plan as a proposal to review—not a guarantee that a goal will be achieved.

Separate the outcome from the work

“Get better at presenting” is a direction, not a next step. A more workable outcome might be “Give a ten-minute presentation to my team next month.” It gives you something concrete to prepare for without pretending every part of the result is under your control.

Then separate tasks from habits. Drafting an outline is a task with an end point. Practising for ten minutes on selected days is a repeatable habit. Keeping them distinct makes it easier to see whether the plan is asking for a one-off action or an ongoing commitment.

What Liftoff helps you organize

The goal workflow helps you describe your goal and develop a plan. Advanced planning can propose success-driver categories, phases and tasks. Review the suggestions, adjust the scope and choose habits that fit your circumstances rather than accepting every suggestion.

Daily check-ins connect intention with reflection. Selecting or carrying forward an action is planning; it is not proof that you completed it. You decide what you did, what needs to change, and what remains worth pursuing.

Review the plan when real life changes

A missed day can mean the task was too large, the timing was poor, or something more important needed attention. Before adding more commitments, reduce the next step or remove a dependency. Progress tracking is useful when it informs that decision, not when it becomes a reason to judge yourself.

AI suggestions can be incomplete or unsuitable. Check assumptions, deadlines and any advice that affects health, legal or financial decisions. You remain responsible for choosing and editing your plan.

Put it into practice

Try a smaller next step before opening the app

For the presentation example, write a short plan that does not depend on feeling motivated first:

  1. Name the outcome: a ten-minute team presentation next month.
  2. Choose one phase: prepare a simple outline before designing slides.
  3. Define the next task: write three points the audience should remember.
  4. Choose a realistic practice habit, then review it after a week.

Frequently asked questions

Does Liftoff generate a plan for me?

Its advanced workflow supports AI-assisted plan suggestions. You review and edit the proposed plan; suggestions are not a promise of completeness, suitability or success.

What is the difference between a goal, a task and a habit?

A goal describes a desired outcome. A task is a specific piece of work. A habit is an action you intend to repeat. A useful plan can include all three without treating them as interchangeable.

Can I read this guide without an account?

Yes. This guide is public. Your saved goals, plans and check-ins remain inside the signed-in app and are not included on this page.
